Mount

Remount mountpoints

remount readonly

mount -o remount,ro /MOUNTPOINT

undo remounts, this will restore as mount options are defined in /etc/fstab

mount -o remount /MOUNTPOINT

Mount examples

Mount a samba share

mount -t cifs -o username=server_user,password=secret //SERVER/share /path_to/mount

Mount it via fstab

//SERVER/share   /path_to/mount   cifs credentials=/home/USER/.creds,_netdev,uid=client_user,gid=users   0 0

cat /home/USER/.creds

username=USER
password=secret

Sonstiges

Generate a ramdisk and mount to /mnt

mount -t tmpfs tmpfs /mnt -o size=1024m

Mount ramdisk via fstab

/etc/fstab
tmpfs  /mnt   tmpfs   defaults,size=16106127360   0 0

Remount /dev/shm

mount -o remount,size=128G /dev/shm
