Mutt

Mutt: bouncing messages

Situation: you need to bounce some messages from one user to another or to a mailing list. Criteria: the sender should be real and without changes on the messages.

Open your Maildir with mutt:

mutt -f /home/info/Maildir/

Tag messages with: t

Bounce tagged messages with: ;b Now enter a address of recipient and accept the bounce process with yes

Delete Mails based on regexpr via commandline

DATE=$(date --date='5 days ago' "+%b %d") mutt -f /var/spool/mail/mailbox -e 'set folder=/dev/null; set delete=yes; push "<delete-pattern>~h ${DATE}<enter><quit>"' >/dev/null
